This typically happens when your home’s real-time power consumption exceeds your solar generation output. The system prioritizes using solar power to supply your home loads first, leaving no excess energy to charge the battery.
Other common reasons include:
-
The aPower battery is currently discharging to power your home.
-
The aPower battery is already fully charged.
-
The battery charge level is above 90% while Emergency Backup Mode is active.
-
Battery charging is paused when cell temperature drops below 32°F (0°C) to protect the battery in freezing conditions.
-
The battery’s built-in heating function may be running on cold mornings; please wait a while and check again later.
-
An aPower circuit breaker may have tripped, or system switches are turned off.
-
If none of the above apply, there may be an internal system fault. Please contact your installer or FranklinWH Support for further technical assistance.
