Support Articles
First FranklinWH system settings inputs will be completed one by one following commissioning steps.
Below are all mandatory PCS (aPower) parameters that must be checked and validated during site commissioning, matching FranklinWH system + utility compliance requirements.
1. Grid Standard & Country/Region Settings
-
Grid voltage level (240V split-phase / 208V / etc.)
-
Grid frequency (50Hz / 60Hz)
-
Grid code / regional standard (US default, HECO, California rule set)
-
Voltage and frequency protection thresholds (over/under voltage, over/under frequency trip points)
2. PV Configuration Parameters
-
Number of DC PV strings
-
PV rated power / string capacity
-
PV working voltage range (MPPT min/max)
-
AC PV inverter enable/disable
-
Multi-string Export / Non-Export mode assignment (per HECO CSS, NEM+, NEM-MT)
3. Power & Export Limit Settings
-
Max grid export power limit
-
aPowers deration
-
Reverse power flow enable / disable (No Export compliance)
-
Volt-Watt / Volt-VAR curve parameters
-
Frequency-Droop enable and slope setting (for AC PV curtailment)
4. Battery Parameters
-
Battery type & cell count
-
Battery rated voltage / capacity
-
Charge cut-off voltage / current
-
Discharge low limit voltage / SOC threshold
-
SOC calibration and full-charge threshold setting
5. Operating Mode Configuration
-
Grid-tied / Self-consumption mode
-
Time-of-use (TOU) tariff matching parameters
-
Peak shift / load backup priority mode
-
Generator input enable (if applicable)
6. Communication & Sync Parameters
-
CAN bus communication baud rate
-
PCS device address matching aGate
-
Firmware version compatibility (PCS ↔ aGate)
-
Clock time sync with aGate EMS
7. Protection & Safety Parameters
-
Overload protection threshold
-
Over temperature protection limit
-
Short circuit and ground fault protection enable
-
Anti-islanding protection enable and parameters
8. Relay & I/O Logic
Quick Summary
During commissioning, you must validate:
Grid standards → PV string & non-export settings → power/export limits → battery thresholds → operating modes → communication sync → safety protection parameters.
