The innovative V2L technology within the FranklinWH System transforms your Electric Vehicle (EV) into an additional power source, allowing you to power household appliances, gadgets, and even critical home systems directly from your car or truck. It’s as simple as plugging in and letting your EV share its stored energy, providing another safety net to sustain power supply during long outages.
Easy and Quick Setup
Setting up V2L in the FranklinWH System is foolproof. Homeowners can easily access their EV battery by leveraging the built-in generator port in the aGate, allowing a direct cable connection to the EV’s outlet without requiring any additional external components.
Full Control via the FranklinWH App
Once the cable is connected, you can plug in your EV and easily program your EV battery to distribute power to home loads via the FranklinWH App, from anywhere, at any time.
Immediate Backup That Lasts for Days
In the event of a power outage, V2L in the FranklinWH System allows you to tap into your EV's battery to keep essential appliances running in an immediate fashion when other power sources are unavailable, With a fully charged battery, the setup can sustain critical home functions for days, depending on your energy consumption.
Guaranteed Operation Safety
The FranklinWH system allows electric vehicles to provide default output power of 5 kW. Homeowners are allowed to set the limit of vehicle output power via the FranklinWH App. By enabling automatic monitoring, an alert is triggered when output power hits 80% of the set limit. The V2L input will be automatically shut off, ensuring safe operation while extending backup period.
Notes
1. The V2L function is only available to EVs that are supported by the FranklinWH system.
2. V2L in the FranklinWH system currently is used to power home appliances. Future versions will be able charge aPower batteries, coming soon.
3. Contact your installer to set up the V2L system by connecting the EV plug to the aGate. Do not attempt this on your own, as electrical equipment can be dangerous and you may void the FranklinWH warranty.
4. V2L is the last resort during emergencies. It’s exclusive from other power sources including solar, grid, and generators, meaning it does not function alongside any other power sources mentioned above.
