PECO Flex & Save Battery Program
Get Rewarded for Helping to Build a Resilient Pennsylvania

What is the PECO Flex & Save Battery Program?
The Flex & Save Battery Program is a grid services initiative from PECO Energy Company (PECO) in Pennsylvania that rewards homeowners for sharing their FranklinWH aPower battery capacity to support a more resilient electric grid. By enrolling in PECO’s Flex & Save program, you will be rewarded for allowing PECO to use the energy stored in your battery during seasons of high demand.
During the program season, FranklinWH customers can earn $80/kW based on the average power (kW) reduction delivered across all hours and events over each season. The PECO Flex & Save Battery Program helps reduce peak energy usage, maintain grid reliability, and support the increased adoption of renewable energy.
How Do
the Incentives Work?
During the program season, enrolled customers can earn up to $80 per kW based on the average power (kW) production delivered by their FranklinWH aPowers across all program hours and events throughout the season.
Summer events will take place between June 1 and August 31, while winter events will run between January 1 and February 28 (or February 29 when applicable). Events may be called daily on non-holiday weekdays, with summer events occurring between 2 pm and 6 pm and winter events occurring in two periods, 7 am to 9 am and 6 pm to 8 pm.
Final incentive amounts will vary on several factors with a few being the power capacity of each system, system configuration, length of the event, maintaining internet connectivity and the average performance delivered throughout the season.

With 15 kWh of energy capacity, a 20% backup reserve and an average of four-hour events over the season, the performance payout could be up to $200.
Assuming the same parameters, including the possibility of up to 2 events per day sometimes, the performance incentive could be up to $400.
Overall, a single aPower 2 or aPower S battery can earn incentives of up to $600 per year. If event durations are shorter, the total incentives earned may be even higher.
