What is the Entergy New Orleans VPP Program?
The Entergy New Orleans Virtual Power Plant (VPP) program rewards you for allowing Entergy New Orleans to dispatch your FranklinWH battery during peak demand periods. By participating, you help reduce strain on the local grid while earning cash incentives, up to $600 per year for residential customers.
How It Works
During peak demand periods, Entergy New Orleans will automatically signal your FranklinWH System to discharge stored energy. Events occur during specified hours: 3 pm - 8 pm in summer and early morning hours in winter. There will be up to 80 events per year, each typically lasting 2 hours. The process is fully automated, no action required from you. Your battery helps support the grid during critical moments, and you receive a performance-based incentive.
Program Season
Year-round (January 1 - December 31)
Incentive Structure
Residential customers receive $125/kW delivered, based on average performance across all program events within the calendar year, up to a maximum of $600 per year. Commercial customers earn $250/kW delivered, capped at $1,800 per year. Incentive payments are issued as checks after the end of the program season.

During an Event

- You do not need to take any action, the process is fully automated.
After an Event
- Entergy New Orleans measures your battery's performance during the event. You can view event results in the FranklinWH App.
- Your aPower returns to normal operating mode.
Application Process
Confirm that you are an active Entergy New Orleans residential customer with an installed FranklinWH System and a complete interconnection application on file with Entergy New Orleans. Consult a local FranklinWH Authorized Installer if you do not yet have a FranklinWH System.

Once approved, your FranklinWH System will be enrolled.
Your incentive will be calculated at the end of the program period based on your battery's performance. You will receive your incentive payment as checks by the end of March of the following year.
