FranklinWH Certified Installer
Code of Ethics & Standards of Conduct

FranklinWH is committed to maintaining professional standards that protect homeowners and uphold the integrity of the home energy storage industry. All FranklinWH Certified Installers are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on FranklinWH, the installer community, and the clean energy profession, consistent with accepted moral, ethical, and legal standards.

CODE OF ETHICS

As a FranklinWH Certified Installer, I agree to:

  • Treat all homeowners, FranklinWH representatives, and fellow industry professionals with honesty, fairness, and respect;
  • Perform installations safely, in compliance with all applicable codes and FranklinWH guidelines, and to the highest quality standards;
  • Only perform work I am properly trained, licensed, and qualified to complete;
  • Clearly and accurately communicate with homeowners about the scope of work, timelines, costs, system capabilities, and any potential risks or limitations, including whether the installation provides whole home or partial home backup;
  • Protect the privacy and confidentiality of all homeowner and customer information;
  • Avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise the quality of my work or my obligations to homeowners;
  • Represent FranklinWH products, system capabilities, and performance expectations accurately and honestly;
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all installations and service work;
  • Uphold the reputation of FranklinWH and the clean energy industry through ethical business practices;
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with FranklinWH staff at all times.

STANDARDS OF CONDUCT

SECTION A: COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS AND FRANKLINWH POLICIES

  • The Certified Installer will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and building codes governing the installation of energy storage systems.
  • The Certified Installer will comply with all FranklinWH rules, policies, procedures, and installation guidelines, including rules concerning the appropriate use of FranklinWH trademarks, logos, and certification marks.
  • The Certified Installer will maintain all required state and local licenses, permits, and bonding necessary to lawfully perform energy storage installations in their service area.
  • The Certified Installer will maintain appropriate insurance coverage, including commercial general liability insurance, and shall name FranklinWH Energy Storage Inc. as an additional insured on all applicable policies.

SECTION B: PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

  • The Certified Installer will deliver safe, competent installation and service, and will provide quality work in accordance with FranklinWH installation guidelines and all applicable codes.
  • The Certified Installer will only perform work for which they are properly qualified based on their education, training, credentials, and licensing.
  • The Certified Installer will provide homeowners with clear and accurate information regarding the scope of work, costs, system capabilities, and any limitations or risks, and will ensure homeowners understand what they are purchasing before finalizing the sale.
  • The Certified Installer will perform installations that meet or exceed FranklinWH specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • The Certified Installer will not delegate installation work to any unqualified, unlicensed, or non-FranklinWH certified person. The Certified Installer remains responsible for the quality of all work performed.
  • The Certified Installer will be truthful and accurate in all advertising and representations concerning professional qualifications, experience, certifications, and licenses.
  • The Certified Installer will not decline a homeowner based on age, gender, race, color, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, religious affiliation, or any other basis that would constitute unlawful discrimination.

SECTION C: DISPUTES AND HOMEOWNER COMPLAINTS

  • The Certified Installer is solely responsible for managing, addressing, and resolving all disputes, claims, and complaints related to or arising from their installation services, workmanship, or conduct.
  • The Certified Installer shall not represent or imply that FranklinWH is responsible for resolving disputes arising from the Certified Installer's work or business practices.
  • The Certified Installer agrees to cooperate with FranklinWH if a homeowner or third party directs a complaint to FranklinWH regarding the Certified Installer's work or conduct.

SECTION D: CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY

  • The Certified Installer will maintain the confidentiality of all homeowner and customer information obtained in the course of providing services.
  • The Certified Installer will not use homeowner information for any purpose other than the fulfillment of professional services.
  • The Certified Installer will handle all homeowner data in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

SECTION E: USE OF FRANKLINWH MATERIALS

  • The Certified Installer will not copy, distribute, or use FranklinWH proprietary materials, training content, or technical documentation without authorization.
  • The Certified Installer will use FranklinWH trademarks, logos, and certification marks only in accordance with FranklinWH guidelines and will not make unauthorized modifications to such marks.

SECTION F: MISCONDUCT PROHIBITIONS

  • The Certified Installer will not engage in any criminal misconduct, dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation relating to their professional activities.
  • The Certified Installer will not make false or misleading statements about any FranklinWH product, system capability, or expected performance.
  • The Certified Installer will avoid any behavior that may compromise the integrity of, or reflect negatively on, FranklinWH or the home energy storage profession.

ENFORCEMENT

FranklinWH reserves the right to investigate any alleged violation of this Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct. Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal from the FranklinWH Certified Installer Program at FranklinWH's sole discretion.

INDEMNIFICATION

The Certified Installer agrees to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FranklinWH, its directors, officers, employees, and representatives from any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees), and liabilities arising out of or related to the Certified Installer's installation work, professional practice, conduct, or any violation of this Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct.
