Normally, a battery with a 10 kW charge rate should require a 10 kW PV system to feed it in order to ensure that it is not over-generated under any circumstances. However, given the fact that PV tends to produce less power than the maximum power, it makes sense to pair a 10 kW battery with an 11-12 kW PV system.

 Taking the FranklinWH aPower 2 battery as an example, which has a maximum input power of 8 kW, we would suggest that you could pair it with a 10 kW PV system, which would require roughly 28 solar PV panels.
