What is
the PSE Flex Batteries program?

Flex Batteries is a virtual power plant (VPP) initiative managed by Puget Sound Energy (PSE). Homeowners with FranklinWH aPower batteries are incentivized to share their batteries with the utility during periods of high demand.

How does
Flex Batteries work?

Program Overview

PSE will discharge batteries during Flex events, with no additional action or change in energy use required from the homeowner.

Number of Events

Up to 50 times in the summer and 50 times in the winter. Batteries will never be discharged to less than 20% of their capacity.

Program Seasons

Summer (May – September) Winter (November – March)

Event Notification

You will be notified of the date and time of the event beforehand through your FranklinWH App.

Revenue

Homeowners receive $1,000 per battery for enrollment and up to $500 per year for each battery.

Step 1

Step 2

Read through the program eligibility requirements to see if you qualify for PSE Flex Batteries.

Step 3

Enroll in Flex Batteries through the FranklinWH App. Learn More >

Step 4

Receive your enrollment reward check within 4-6 weeks after enrollment.

Step 5

Every year, at the end of the summer season, receive payment in the form of an e-gift card for participating in Flex events.
