San Francisco, CA – Feb. 23, 2022 — FranklinWH, a privately funded home energy storage company, is pleased to announce its significant milestone for its “FHP” (Franklin Home Power Solution), with the recent inclusion to the Hawaiian Electric Company (“HECO”) Qualified Equipment List for Grid Support Utility Interactive Inverters and CSS system.
The Franklin Home Power (FHP) solution is designed for the U.S. homeowner’s energy freedom. The two primary components of the solution are the “aPower” and “aGate”. The “aPower” device contains a DC to AC bi-directional inverter and LFP batteries. The “aGate” device acts as a power distribution center and energy management device (EMD).
The intended use case will be like other residential ESS, charged by a renewable generation source during the day and supply power to the household load at night. FHP will also allow for backup and emergency power supply capabilities. FHP solution enables and optimizes self-consumption and provides backup power when the grid goes down. Homeowners can remotely monitor and control their home energy by using a cloud based FranklinWH application with advanced data security.
The certified aPower with associated equipment aGate that has been approved by the Hawaiian Electric Company for use with the Customer Self-Supply (Rule 22), the Net Energy Metering Plus (Rule 27), the Net Energy Metering (Rule 18), the Customer Grid-Supply (Rule 23), the Customer Grid-Supply Plus (Rule 24), Smart Export (Rule 25), and Standard Interconnection Agreement programs.
Hawaii has embraced solar due to the island’s high electricity costs and an abundance of sunshine. The state has one of the highest per-capita rates of solar power in the US, with a goal of 100 percent renewables by 2045.
